What Odyssey adds that's unique is their Ai-ONE face insert—the aluminum backer has contours designed to promote consistent ball speed across the face. In testing across twenty putts, the range of smash factors with the Odyssey Ai-ONE putters was half that of a milled face, meaning the Odyssey putters produced more consistent ball speed, just as they claim. Odyssey's research shows that the Ai-ONE insert can leave poorly struck long putts up to 21% closer to the hole, resulting in fewer three-putts.

During testing, the putter head was notably stable during the stroke, feeling like it wanted to stay square to the target without much effort, as if the putter was doing the work for you—which is exactly what you want. The overall footprint is bigger than a traditional blade—it's longer and wider—but it's not overly chunky. A new Reverse Taper Grip option is available, specifically engineered for Square 2 Square models to promote a more natural setup position by counteracting the built-in shaft lean.
